Ho, Ho, Mistletoe

Went to the holiday store
I went to battle the lines
I went to buy mistletoe but leaves i could not find
There was plastic all around me
Nothing my heart could feel
So I dropped my pants threw up my arms
Said at least what you see is real
While walking down the street
I found a family of birds
Making their way through the snow
to a shop filled with herbs
And the woman behind the counter
She smiled and she twinkled her nose
And pointed to the leaves up above my head
Then flipped the open sign to closed
[CHORUS]
Ho, ho mistletoe
Ho, ho yourself
You always work when you;re from the vine
And not packaged on a shelf
Your magic always works wonders
From the earth you do grow
Whenever I need just a little bit of help
To the mistletoe I go
Some revelers were having a party
And I thought she might be there
I ran to my closet tripped over my boot
To see what I could wear
Black shoes and a black tie
A white shirt with long sleeves
And in its pocket you best be sure
That I filled it up with leaves
[CHORUS]
I arrived to party early
I arrived and brought my leaves
Hung them up in a secret spot
Where she and I could meet
But she never showed up
And sure I almost cried
But another girl did and she’s pretty too
So I think it’s gonna be alright
[CHORUS]
